An Oversize/Overweight Load - Trip Permit (OO Trip) is required for the transportation of a load(s) that exceeds the limits prescribed in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), on a specific day(s), on a specific route, that is not already allowed for by a current Oversize/Overweight Load - Annual Permit (OO Annual).
Application may be made to multiple road authorities on a route with this service, by selecting the Multi-Jurisdiction option (coming soon).
Additional Conditions and Comments
In reviewing applications consideration is given to a number of factors, including:
- Complete application; adhering to permit guidelines and by-law.
- Effect of proposed move on the safety and convenience of other road users.
- Effect on existing public infrastructure.
- Known physical characteristics of proposed route.
- Does the application involve the relocation or movement of a building?
- Likely traffic conditions at the time of move.
- Any special events during the proposed time of move.
- Distance and length of time of move.
- Can loads be reduced in size and/or weight (alternate configurations)?
- Is a Traffic Management Plan required for exceptional moves?
